My Exclusive Pumping Journey: Why Finding the Right Breast Pump Changed Everything

My Exclusive Pumping Journey: Why Finding the Right Breast Pump Changed Everything

When I became a mum, I knew I wanted to provide breast milk for my babies for as long as I could.

Over the years, I exclusively pumped for all three of my boys, with each of my pumping journeys lasting around six months. It wasn’t always easy, but it was something that was incredibly important to me.

I also want to say this before I go any further: I wholeheartedly support every feeding journey. Whether you breastfeed, exclusively pump, formula feed, or use a combination of both, a fed baby is what matters most. As my own pumping journey came to an end, I slowly introduced formula, and it was the right decision for our family.

Every family’s journey is different, and there is no one “right” way to feed your baby.

My First Pump

With my first son, my breast pump was plugged into the wall or the car’s power outlet. At the time, it worked well enough because it was all I knew.

But being connected to a power source wasn’t exactly convenient. Pumping meant planning where I could sit, finding an outlet, or sitting in the car if I needed to express while we were out.

Trying Portable with Baby Number Two

When my second son arrived, I decided to try a portable pump.

It definitely gave me more freedom, but it was quite bulky and not as discreet or comfortable as I had hoped. It was an improvement, but I still found myself wishing for something smaller, quieter, and easier to wear while getting on with life.

Then I Found Tiny Bloom

By the time my third baby arrived, life looked very different.

I had a newborn, a three-year-old, and a four-year-old. Sitting still simply wasn’t an option.

I was pumping six times a day, including overnight. Between school runs, preparing meals, doing the dishes, playing with my older boys, and everything else that comes with having three young children, I needed a breast pump that could keep up with me.

Finding Tiny Bloom completely changed my pumping experience.

For the first time, I felt like I could continue with my day while pumping. I could wear it while doing housework, feeding my children, travelling in the car, or simply moving around the house without feeling restricted.

For a mum exclusively pumping multiple times every day, that freedom was invaluable.

More Than Just a Pump

What made me love Tiny Bloom even more was the range of products designed to support the entire pumping journey.

Some of my favourites were:

● The discreet milk collection cups that comfortably caught letdown and were so easy to clean.

● Breast milk storage bags that made storing milk simple and organised.

● The bottle drying rack that helped keep everything tidy.

● The large steriliser, which quickly became one of the most-used appliances in our kitchen. Not only did it sterilise bottles and pump parts, but it also warmed bottles, and now that we’re introducing solids, it doubles as a food warmer too.

Having products that all worked together made those six months of exclusive pumping so much easier.

To Every Mum on Her Feeding Journey

Exclusive pumping isn’t easy.

It takes time, commitment, and a lot of washing pump parts! There were overnight sessions, busy mornings, and plenty of moments where I questioned whether I could keep going.

For me, having equipment I genuinely trusted made all the difference.

If you’re planning to exclusively pump or simply want the flexibility of expressing while you’re out and about, I genuinely recommend Tiny Bloom because it made such a positive difference to my own experience.

Most importantly, though, remember that there is no prize for feeding your baby one way or another.

Breast milk, formula, combination feeding—every journey is valid, and every parent is doing their best.

If sharing my experience helps even one mum find products that make her feeding journey a little easier, then it’s worth telling my story.
